Welcome to Revival

Revival WoodbrdigeRevival is the Youth Congregation of St. John's Church in Woodbridge. We are an assorted bunch of young people who are getting to grips with the world we inhabit, getting on with each other and with trying to understand what God is all about and what he means for us. During the course of each month we organise and run a range of activities and events. But more importantly we spend this time building quality relationships with each other and with God.

Mission Trip to Romania 2011

It was an early start on a summer's day when 10 young people, 2 FORM Gap Year Students and 4 leaders boarded two minibuses for the trip to Heathrow and onward to Romania.  Months of planning and fund-raising had taken place and now it was time to support the work of Cry in the Dark in Romania.  Here is an account of the trip, mostly from the young people who were involved.

Alive Festival 2011

2011 saw the 4th Alive Festival and once again Revival Youth Congregation hosted the youth part over the 2nd May Bank Holiday Weekend (28th to 30th May). The Alive Festivals, run by St John’s Church, aim to offer a strong emphasis on Word and Spirit and seek to apply good practice in Charismatic ministry for the East Anglian setting.

Weekend Away 2010

Horstead CentreIn September 2010 we again had a wonderful weekend at the Horstead Centre in Norfolk. This was the sixth year that we visited Horstead for a weekend of activities we wouldn't normally do, a time to knit together as a new group, having welcomed new members, and a time to learn more about God.

It's just a hour and a half from Woodbridge to Horstead. but by the time we get there we are ready for the tea that is provided by the Centre staff.  After finding which rooms we are in and a brief time to unpack, we have the first of our discipleship sessions.  In 2010 we looked at how we can all grow together within Cells and revival through creating community and all getting involved.

The Noise 2010

Over the first May Bank Holiday (1-3 May), revival took part in 'The Noise' project. Initiated by Soul Survivor and other Christian organisations, it is a community based project designed to get young people taking church out onto the streets by engaging with social action projects. On the Saturday we did a litter sweep of Woodbridge, washed mobility scooters and cleaned off graffiti from the garages on the Peterhouse estate. Local residents commented that 'we were doing a good job' and 'it made the area look a lot nicer'.
